Duncan Fletcher to appear in India this week

Team India's new coach Fletcher is likely to be in Chennai this week to be present at the selection commission meeting for the West Indies tour, reports say. This will be his first visit to India after being selected team coach.

He has been invited to be present at the selection team meeting for the West Indies tour in Chennai on May 13,an Indian cricket board source was quoted saying in the Mid-day newspaper.He is attainment Chennai on May 13 and will leave for South Africa the next day,the source added.

Team India's bowling coach Simmons will also be present at the conference. Reports also said that no senior Indians players have opted for a break next month.We assume all senior players are obtainable for the tour. We are world winner and we don't want to be losers by sending a weak team,a board official told the newspaper.

Sixty-two-year-old Fletcher has a tough job ahead of him after he replaced the friendly South African Kirsten, who set a high standard for the Indian team and completed his stint with the unforgettable ICC Cricket World Cup victory last month.

With Kirsten at the rudder, India reached the top of Test rankings and number two in the ODI list after tricks up memorable wins and draws in series abroad. He relinquishes the job to spend more time with his family. India will play one T20, five one-day internationals and three Test matches in the West Indies.
