Andre Villas-Boas appointed as Chelsea manager on Wednesday morning. He resigned at FC Porto and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich paid €15 million departure clause to Porto. Chelsea have given Villas-Boas a three-year deal and the Portuguese will start his new position "immediately" following his departure from Porto.
The club sources said "Andre was the outstanding candidate for the job. He is one of the most talented young managers in football today and has already achieved much in a relatively short space of time."
Villas-Boas is familiar with Chelsea Players and supporter , he worked as a coach under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea.The owner believes Villas-Boas is the right man for Chelsea as he won a quadruple with Porto last season including Europa league.
Villa-Boas is expected to make few changes in the squad this summer and Radamel Falcao could be his first signing for Chelsea.
