Kumar Sangakkara is probable to be called for an explanation by Sri Lanka's sports minister over his MCC strength of Cricket lecture at Lord's. According to the state news agency 'Lankapuwath', Aluthgamage had called the next interim group of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) to look at the remarks made by the previous captain.
Kumar in his language on Monday in London, accuse Sri Lankan cricket manager of causing rift, ill-feeling and distrust in the side. Kumar slam the SLC for corrupt practices and oblique that he was compulsory to step down from captaincy after only two years at the helm.
Sangakkara, who resigned after the World Cup defeat to India in April this year, said with Sri Lanka's 1996 World Cup victory, the cricket administration in the island had changed from a volunteer-led organization run by well-meaning men of honesty into a multimillion-dollar organization that has been in turmoil ever since.
Without naming names, Sangakkara voiced his anxiety at the way the sport in Sri Lanka is now heading.Players from within the team itself became involved in power games within the board. Officials elected to power in this way in turn influence actor loyalty to attain their own ends. At times, plank government would spill over into the team causing rift, ill feeling and distrust, Sangakkara had said.
Sangakkara felt lack of answerability has been the bane of Lankan cricket which has left the board without reliable management.Accountability and lucidity in administration and trustworthiness of conduct were lost in a mad power move violently that would leave Sri Lankan Cricket with no consistent and clear direction.Presidents and elected executive commission would come and go; government-picked interim team would be chosen and dissolved, he said.
