Columbus Crew defeated DC United 2-1 in the American MLS in spite of being behind at the end of the first half. Dan Woolard gave United the lead after 37 minutes but Woolard's own goal three events into the second half and an Eddie Gaven goal earned the Crew victory.
Portland Timbers were 1-0 winners away to Vancouver Whitecaps with a goal from Kenny Cooper. Juan Pablo Angel earns Chivas USA a draw with Philadelphia Union with an equaliser in the final minute after Justin Mapp had given the guests the lead just before the hour.
