Petra Kvitova and Victoria Azarenka both book their places in the semi-finals of the WTA Tour Championships in Istanbul with success in the Turkish capital. Wimbledon champion Kvitova prove too strong for fast-fading world number one Caroline Wozniacki, need just 84 minutes to earn a 6-4 6-2 win which secures her obligation from the Red Group.
And world number three Azarenka booked her place from the White Group with a 6-2 6-2 win over French Open champion Li Na, a game in which the Chinese player failed to fashion a single break point on her competitor serve.
In the day's biggest drama, late alternate Agnieszka Radwanska fought back from the brink of beat and saved three match points before edging out Russia's Vera Zvonareva 1-6 6-2 7-5. Zvonareva blew her big possibility with a series of errors, making Radwanska the likely favorite to join Kvitova in the last four. However, both Zvonareva and Wozniacki both retain slim hopes.
With Maria Sharapova previously out of the White Group with an ankle wound, the battle to join Azarenka in the last four will be fight in a straight shoot-out between Li and Australia's US Open winner Sam Stosur.
