A USC basketball team will get a request to the Big Dance
While the men's basketball team struggles to rebuild, the women are finally preliminary to see the fruits of their labor. They opened this season ranked for the first time since 2006 after losing 76-68 to Toledo in the NIT finals last period. Though they ended preseason 5-5, they faced several ranked teams including No.4 Notre Dame and defensive NCAA champions No. 10 Texas A&M.

Its most decorated program is the Track and Field team which boasts more Olympic Gold medals than some small countries. USC has won multiple national titles the past several years and there is no reason to believe they will be slowing down anytime soon.

The junior had 3,528 yards, 39 touchdowns and only seven interceptions in his third year, but determined that was not enough. When Barkley announced that he would be coming back for his senior season, he effectively punched his admission ticket to the Heisman ritual that will take place a little less than a year from now. Though Robert Griffin III proved that it's not how you start, but how you finish that truly wins you the Heisman, it is safe to say that Barkley will at least enter 2012 a front runner in the race.
Robert Woods will be USC's first ever Biletnikoff winner
Woods was a finalist for the award that goes to the nation's top receiver, but lost to Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon who will be incoming the NFL draft. As a sophomore, he broke Keyshawn Johnson's conference single-season reception record which means he is previously building on some of the most eye-popping numbers in the country.
Trojan football will be getting ready to play in January
When Barkley talked about unfinished business when announce his return, he meant leading the Trojans back to a BCS bowl game the first year they have been entitled under Lane Kiffin. They return a star-studded list of 17 starters: Barkley and All-Americans Woods and T.J. McDonald will return along with five freshman All-Americans, including Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year Marqise Lee and Defensive Player of the Year Dion Bailey. Some losses, such as suspicious end Nick Perry, already have capable replacements waiting in the wings (in this case, redshirt sophomore George Uko).
