Juan Del appears to be on route to struggle in the French Open in spite of a hip injury. The former US Open winner pulled out of the Madrid Masters earlier this month because of a torn hip power and he admit he may struggle to reach Roland Garros.

Francesca Schiavone sustained her build-up towards the defence of her French Open by reaching the Brussels Open second round. Schiavone made light of windy circumstances to defeat last year's shock Wimbledon semi-finalist Tsvetana 6-2 7-5 in one hour and 32 minutes.
She was connected in the second round by fifth seed Jankovic, who beat Rodionova 6-2 6-3. Jankovic trail 3-1 in the second set before hostility back for a straight sets win. Other successful seeds built-in sixth seed Yanina Wickmayer, who beat Kaia Kanepi 6-1 4-6 7-5, seventh kernel Romanian Alexandra Dulgheru and Chinese eighth seed Shuai Peng.
The most astonishing winner of the day was 17-year-old local qualifier Alison van Uytvanck. Playing in her first WTA tour event, she overcome Swiss world number 58 Patty Schnyder 6-3 2-6 6-2.
Other first round winners were American lucky loser Irina Falconi - who is next up for Schiavone - another American in Abigail Spears, Ayumi Morita, and Kazakh qualifier Galina Voskoboeva.
