Rahul Dravid expect to shine in WI

Indian middle-order ace Dravid is confident about the Indian cricket team humanizing upon its 2006 presentation in the upcoming tour of the WI. During the 2006 WI tour, the Indian team created record under Rahul captaincy when they won a Test series in the Caribbean for the first time in 35 years.

We won the series there last time approximately but I hope we will do better this time,he said on the sideline of a promotional occasion on Tuesday. If the WI plays their full power side, they will be a rough team to beat. But it will be good-looking to see if they have their full side.

Rahul turn out to be only the second Indian skipper, after Wadekar, to have won a Test series in the WI when he led India to a 1-0 victory in a four-match rubber in 2006. Meanwhile, Rahul was sure that the last chapter in the rivalry between spin wizard Warne and batting genius Sachin, with the former state publicly his retirement from the INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE, would be an absorbing one when RR takes on Mumbai Indians on Friday.

Both are big players. If we see the history we will agree both are tradition. It will be a good show by great cricketers. Everybody will like to see such contests. Hopefully, there would be a good contest,he said.

The 38-year-old cricketer, who is part of the Jaipur outfit, said innocence was the reason behind RR failure to make it to the playoffs of IPL 4. Look, our side has got a little bit of ingenuousness if you look at our game. There are 10 teams and at the end of the day other teams had probably more knowledgeable players in this rivalry.

We are not in a position to get to the play-offs. We have got some up and down presentation. We have some young people doing well for us. We can improve next year,Dravid said. He pinpoints RR Ashok Menaria and Ajinkya Rahane as the players to watch out for in the outlook.

Happy to see some youthful players like Ajinkya Rahane and Ashok Menaria come through...they have shown a glance of what they can do. Rahane has done well for Mumbai in Ranji and domestic cricket while Menaria has done well for Rajasthan.

In the meantime, South African Botha, who was also there at the event, said he would be happy to achieve something Warne as the Jaipur outfit skipper if he is asked to do so.I think when Warne stops; a few guys could take over.

If I get the occasion, I will take it. But there are a lot of guys to take over like shane Watson and Ross Taylor.Asked about Gary Kirsten's chances of following the outgoing South African coach, Corrie Van Zyl, Botha said,I think honestly Gary has had a good time with the Indian team. If he takes over everyone will be happy.New Zealanders Jacob, Ross Taylor and Rahane were also in attendance on the occasion.
