Suresh Raina: All-round exhibit help us win

Posted by Admin On 10:44 AM

India skipper Suresh Raina, who scored a 50-ball 43, lauded his teammates for the all-round display but said fielding needs to get better. The bowlers did a great job; go after by Rohit and Dhawan. The track wasn't good for batting, but we turn the strike well,Raina said.

He added:We can do better in the field, need to show more strength. It's looking good at the moment; I hope we do well in the next game as well.Rohit scored a winning 68 off 75 balls while Dhawan (51 off 76) notched up his maiden half century to help India chase down the target contentedly.

Man-of-the-match Rohit said it was a tough wicket to bat on originally. It was quite hard initially because the track was turning. It was significant to spend some time in the middle to play our shots,he said.I just want to keep scoring runs and I'm happy to start the tournament on a good note. I'm very much starving for runs, the right-hander added.

With India charming the first of the five-match ODI series, the Caribbean side's work is cut out. India's full-strength team is not here but it looks like the hosts will have a rough time anyways, humanizing the young guns.
