Rugby: Robinson describe time on vocation

World Cup winner and former British Lion Jason Robinson have officially proclaimed his departure from the game. Robinson played his last game in the Premiership for Sale Sharks four years ago but exhausted last season with National Two (North) side Fylde. Now 36, the former rugby league stars switched to the 15-man code in 2000 and played for England at two World Cups, characteristic in all seven of their match in 2003 and score a try in the final conquest over Australia.

Robinson said:I need a knee operation and I have been thoughts about retiring once and for all over the past duo of months.I am very busy now with my role as an envoy for Proskins and after 541 games of spirited rugby, I think the time is right for me to stop.Previous Sharks team-mate Steve Hanley paid an iridescent tribute, saying:Jason is the best player to have ever play rugby.

Having inveterate his departure, Robinson will now be part of an elite team of military personnel running and cycling the distance between Camp Bastion in Afghanistan and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham in aid of its bureaucrat charity, which is sponsor by Proskins. The team will total the 3,580-mile confront in the hospital, which is where the UK's military patients are treated, using five static treadmills and five work out bikes.

The Bastion2Birmingham Charity staying power event will begin on Saturday July 23 and the aim is to come to an end in less than 48 hours. Robinson said:I am fully enthusiastic to the event and am expenditure time preparing so that I can help the aid organization raise as much money as likely.
