A desperate Arsene Wenger is allegedly showing interest in Chelsea defender Alex after his side took a beating at Old Trafford. After a disastrous 8-2 loss alongside Manchester United on Sunday night, it appears that Wenger may finally be dig into the coffers to boost his line-up.
According to reports in The Sun, the Gunners' boss has contact Chelsea about an attention in defender Alex, and it seems that the Blues are amenable to a signing.Arsenal is valuing the 29-year-old Brazilian at £7 million, a couple million shy of Chelsea's £10 million price tag.
Despite being an alternate against Norwich on Saturday, Alex remained on the bench and is supposedly uncertain about his prospect at Stamford Bridge. Arsenal's attention in Alex comes after a bid for Bolton's Gary Cahill went awry due to a clash flanked by Wenger and Bolton chairman Phil Gartside.
