Friendly advice for Anders Lindegaard

Posted by Admin On 10:46 AM

Denmark goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard funny story he could face a fine from his Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson if he denies Scotland in their future friendly match. Lindegaard was on the bench for the Old Trafford side at Wembley on Sunday as they beat rivals Manchester City 3-2 in the Community Shield.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper, who will brawl it out with Thomas Sorensen for a start at Hampden, revealed his discussion with Ferguson last night, telling the Scottish Sun and Daily evidence:He took me aside on Sunday and said he would fine me if I made any good saves against Scotland.Of course, he said it with a smile and a laugh - and a friendly pat on my shoulder. With any luck he wasn't being serious!

It's a huge privilege to play under him at Manchester United. He's been approximately at the club for as long as I can remember, from my first memory as a human being. So he's a true legend and to work with him is a enormous honor for me. He's a world-class manager who makes all his players better.

If Lindegaard does play against the Scots, he will not get to face his Old Trafford team-mate Darren Fletcher who is still out ill with a abdomen virus. However, he is adamant Fletcher can be a big player for the Red Devils this year. Lindegaard said: It would have been fun to play against Darren. He's been good to me at United; he's a positive guy who's always happy and friendly.
