Rafael Nadal reflects on solid Ivan Dodig loss

World number two Rafael Nadal has mirror on his surprise second round exit at the Rogers Cup in Montreal on Twitter. Nadal, a new exchange to the social networking site, told his 238,000 plus faction that Wednesday's beat to Croatian Ivan Dodig was solid for him to take as he felt he had played well.

Nadal certainly appear in charge of the match, after a one-sided opening set next to Dodig which he won 6-1. The world number 41 Dodig then fired 19 aces past Nadal on his way to taking the next two sets on tie-breaks, twice coming from a break of serve behind in the decide set, to win the match.

Dodig triumphed over the former world number one 1-6 7-6 (7/5) 7-6 (7/5) for the most impressive win of his career so far.The defeat of yesterday was hard,Nadal.I consider that I did not play a bad match, but in the instant that it would have to won I did not do it well and Dodig yes.

The match was Nadal's first since relinquish his Wimbledon title and top ranking to Novak Djokovic last month. Meanwhile, Djokovic secured his 50th win of the year on Thursday with a 7-5 6-2 victory next to Marin Cilic in Montreal to reach the quarter-finals of the Rogers Cup.
