Florian Mayer wins maiden title in Bucharest

Germany's Florian Mayer maintain his first ATP World Tour title by beating Pablo Andujar 6-3 6-1 in the final of the BDR Nastase Tiriac Trophy in Bucharest. Second seed Mayer has lost his previous four Tour finals but saw off fourth seed Andujar, who had knock out top seed Juan Ignacio Chela in the semi-finals, in 72 minutes.
There were three breaks of serve in the first seven games, before Mayer won eight straight games for a 5-0 lead in the second set. Mayer is the ninth first-time ATP World Tour title champion of the year.
Andujar, who lost to Chela in last year's final, won his first ATP World Tour title in April at the Grand Prix Hassan II in Casablanca. In the men's doubles final Italians Daniele Bracciali and Potito Starace beat Julian Knowle (Austria) and David Marrero (Spain) 3-6 6-4 10-8.
