S Badrinath to replace Sachin Tendulkar

S Badrinath was named as substitute for Sachin Tedulkar who has been lined out of India's ODI series against England due to a toe injury. Tendulkar was carrying the injury for quite a while but the problem aggravated just before the opening match of the series at Chester-le-Street on Saturday, eventually paving the way for Parthiv Patel`s last-minute adding to the playing eleven.
Sachin Tendulkar has been ruled out of the ongoing ODI series against England due to a toe injury. He has been advice rest for four weeks. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has chosen S Badrinath to replace him, BCCI secretary N Srinivasan said in a statement. Badrinath, who made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka in 2008, has scored 79 runs in seven one-dayers so far.
The Tamil Nadu batsman was also in the squad for India`s tour of West Indies earlier this year, but failed to make an feeling.
