Alexandr Dolgopolov crashes out in Moscow

Third seed Alexandr Dolgopolov crashed out of the ATP & WTA Kremlin Cup in Moscow. The Ukrainian went down 6-3 7-6 (10/8) to France's Jeremy Chardy. Seventh-seeded Gilles Muller of Luxembourg also exited as he lost 7-6 (7/4) 6-3 to Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber.
However, there were no such problems for the other seeds in action in the men's rivalry, with number one Janko Tipsarevic receiving better from a wobbly gap set to beat Russian Igor Kunitsyn 6-7 (5/7) 6-1 6-0.
Sixth seed Dmitry Tursunov, playing in his home contest, beat France's Julien Benneteau 6-3 7-6 (7/1). In the women's draw, Marion Bartoli kept up her pursuit of a place in the end-of-season WTA Championship with a 6-1 6-1 victory over Ksenia Pervak of Russia.
The Frenchwoman, seeded third, can qualify to play in Istanbul by winning the contest following yesterday's exit of second seed Agnieszka Radwanska. Sixth seed Svetlana Kuznetsova saw off Tsvetana Pironkova 7-5 7-5, while Dominika Cibulkova, seeded eighth, battled past Klara Zakopalova 7-6 (7/5) 6-2. The unseeded Elena Vesnina higher with a 6-3 6-4 victory over fellow Russian Ekaterina Ivanova.
