Villarreal and Italy striker Giuseppe Rossi will recover from his cruciate tendon injury in time for Euro 2012, claim agent Federico Pastorello. Rossi tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during Villarreal's 3-0 defeat to Real Madrid on Wednesday, and was later state openly to be ruled out for six months.
While the 24-year-old will return from injury before Euro 2012 begins in June, doubts were raised on whether Rossi can recover full match fitness by then. Rossi's agent, Federico Pastorello was quick to deny claims of the American-born striker missing out in the premiere European global rivalry.
There's another six months to go before the end of the season, nearly eight to the tournament, so there is time to recover,Pastorello told Sky Sport Italia.I can restore confidence the Italy fans that he will be ready for Euro 2012.
I spoke to Rossi a couple of times and it was a real surprise how bad the injury is, because after the match he was able to walk lacking any particular pain,he added.However, when he woke up this morning, the severity of the problem became clear. He still seems very strong-minded and calm, as he wants to undergo operation as soon as possible to begin physiotherapy.
