Suzuki rider John Hopkins has been compulsory to withdraw from this weekend's Sepang MotoGP due complications arising from a broken finger suffer earlier this season. The American was due to make a wild-card exterior for Suzuki in Malaysia but had to pull out after the third finger on his right hand re-broke at the knuckle, creation it not possible to ride.
Hopkins will stay for the remainder of the weekend to give his full support to team-mate Alvaro Bautista and the Rizla Suzuki squad, before he returns to America for extra surgery and convalescence to repair the injure to his hand and allow him to make a full recovery in time for next season,a team declaration read.
Hopkins added:I am so sorry for the team and Rizla Suzuki, because they have given me such a great chance. It's heartbreaking and I can't state my dissatisfaction.It's such a shame and I couldn't be more upset, but the main anxiety now is to get it fixed and get for myself ready for the 2012 season.
