Robin Dutt hails Bayer Leverkusen comeback win

Posted by Admin On 10:50 AM

Bayer Leverkusen coach Robin Dutt hailed his side's performance in their 2-1 reply win over Valencia in the Champions League on Wednesday. Andre Schurrle cancelled out Jonas' first-half opener in the 52nd minute and four minutes, later Sidney Sam got the goal that would decide the match in Leverkusen's favour.
Speaking after the match,Dutt admit to his side's poor start but is pleased with the comeback win.The first half an hour didn't go as planned. We put ourselves in awkward positions with some poor passes and Valencia totally deserved to be ahead because they put us under pressure.
The team delivered a great appearance from the 35th minute onwards. It was not fun to watch the match before that from our point of view but then we took the plan and it was all-out attack after the break. The players want to deliver, and today we saw that.
We saw that Valencia make mistakes too when put under force and it was a never-say-die attitude from us. Our appearance and energy were astonishing and it's a huge release to beat a top European team.
Hopefully it will give us the boost that we needed. It was a very special conquest and we're now four points ahead of third-placed Valencia. The win leaves Leverkusen second-place in Group E, just a point behind leaders Chelsea.
