Stefanie Michl led the Lacoste Ladies Open de France after a five-under-par round of 67 on the second day at the Paris International Golf Club. The Austrian moved up the leader board with an overall score of nine under par to hold a slight one-shot lead over Finland's Ursula Wikstrom in second place.
France's Cassandra Kirkland, who led after Thursday's opening round, slipped into joint seventh after a frightening round of 74. Kirkland bogeyed the fourth hole before maintain a birdie on the seventh, but bogeys on the final three holes insolvent her round, leaving her two over par for the day and six under par overall.
There was a four-way tie for third, with Finland's Minea Blomqvist and Kaisa Ruuttila seven under par next to France's Virginie Lagoutte-Clement and Diana Luna. Felicity Johnson was the best-placed Englishwoman in joint seventh on six under par after a second-round score of 70.
