Andy Murray and Ross Hutchins came from behind to win their first-round doubles match against Nicolas Almagro and David Marrero at the Paris Masters. The British pair higher with a 4-6 6-3 10-7 victory, having got off to a bad start when Murray was broken in his first service game.
Murray is seeded second in the singles event and is waiting to learn the identity of his first adversary after receiving a bye in the first round. World number 23 Fernando Verdasco had to come from behind to move frontward to the second round of the Paris Masters with a 3-6 6-2 6-3 success over Marin Cilic.
The Spaniard will now face fifth-seeded Czech Tomas Berdych after coming through Monday's gap clash, with Berdych one of several players here hostility for a place in the season-ending ATP World Tour finals in London.
