AC Milan will allegedly launch an 18million bid to sign midfielder Michael from Chelsea this summer. The Daily Mirror thinks that San Siro boss Massimiliano Allegri has chosen the Ghanaian powerhouse as the ideal calculation to his squad to open another assault on the Serie A and Champions League trophies next season.

The report claims Allegri has told Milan manager Galliani and Ariedo Braida that Michael - who cost Chelsea 24million from Lyon in 2005 - must be the club's prime summer transfer target. Michael has three years left on his current Chelsea deal and the clubs are unlikely to want to sell their star midfielder.

The Rossoneri are one step away from maintain their first scudetto since 2004. They need just one more point from their three residual Serie A games to clinch their 18th league title.
